    Re: Carl Marty, Sr. Paintings

Does anyone know the whereabouts of the below oil painting by Carl Marty, Sr.?

The painting is of Cabin No. 5, Deer Lake, Three Lakes, Wisconsin.

I lived there several weeks and months at a time, at various times, during all the seasons, from June 1945 to March 1956.

For many of those years there was a water pump adjacent to the kitchen sink; the stove was a wood-burner; and, the outhouse was just outside the area of the painting, left of center.

Many summer BBQ’s were held above the lily-padded beach, front center, from where many canoe excursions were launched from short trips down Mosquito Lake, now renamed Crystal Lake, to day-long paddling throughout the extensive 26-chain of lakes. Later, the canoe trips extended to weeks down the Flambeau Flowage; and, within the Canadian Boundary Waters to Lake Louise beginning from Ely, Minnesota.

Usually, within the cabin, at night, the loons and lapping water lulled you to sleep.
